Dr. Dean Pickard is an award winning educator and professor of philosophy and the humanities. He is a former professional musician and was a prominent martial arts practitioner and instructor with a dozen schools in southern California. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, has been the recipient of research grants from the National Endowment of the Humanities as well as the Liberty Fund, and has received various fellowships, scholarships, and academic awards. Dr. Pickard has published several books, as well as articles and book reviews in academic and popular publications. He has given radio talks, papers, workshops, and public
presentations in the United States and abroad.
Dr. Pickard’s business
success has allowed him to establish several trusts and foundations devoted to philanthropy. This philanthropic orientation has led Dr.
Pickard to found the Pacific Cultural Arts Foundation to promote humanities and its interface with the wider public. Dr. Pickard continues to teach college courses and devotes much of his time to his business and philanthropic interests.
